Last Sunday, driving home from church, my eleven year old son sitting in the passenger side of our car looked over at me and asked:
"Mom, remember the time you gave me cheerios with water?"
I closed my eyes for a brief moment, took a deep breath and with tears in my eyes, I said,
"Yes Anthony, I remember the time I didn't have enough money to buy milk for your cheerios."
Why of all the "times" to remember, why did he remember those times??
If only I could wipe clean those memories from his mind.
But, I can't so I have to teach him to look for the "good" in rough times. I have to teach him to focus on the "good" times we have experienced and to reflect on our past to learn from it.
So what did I do?
Well...I said, "Anthony, we choose to think the thoughts that we think. If we choose to focus on the "hard" times in life and become "bitter" as a result then we will live a very sad and unfulfilling life. If we choose to focus on finding the good in "hard" times and situations then we will become a better person as a result."
What is very interesting about the timing of him asking me that question is that our Pastor was talking about how sometimes pain produces passion.
You see, my son and I have lived through some very difficult times as I am sure most of you have.
How can I explain what I am feeling here?
My Pastor is right. Pain does produce Passion. That is one of the reasons why I am building my network marketing business and why I build my business with PASSION.
I don't want my son to experience another day with "Cheerios with water". I will build and am building my network marketing business with INTENSE Passion!
Network Marketing has given me the opportunity to "compress time", do in 5 years what most people could not accomplish in 30 to 40 years.
It is up to each of YOU to make it happen.
Do you think I sit home all day wishing my phone would ring?
Do you think I wait for people to call?
Do you think I got "LUCKY"?
Absolutely NOT!
I work and I work and I work some more. The business is within me and not me in the business.
You see, TIME is passing by whether we like it or not. TIME cannot be "recaptured". TIME is our most VALUABLE Commodity.
Our business is kind of like an oxymoron. At first, it takes time to build a "huge" long-term network but once we've built it, then we can use our time to do what we've dreamed of.
What is your dream?
My dream was to be able to work out of my home without having a "job" to report to. My dream was to be home when my son walked out the door to go to school, to be home when he came home from school.
It's awesome, I am living a life that most single mother's dream of!
How many single mom's do you know of that are able to be at home without having to ask for help from the government?
When I reached that goal, do you think I quit dreaming?
No WAY!
Now, I have more dreams and goals I am working towards.
